Bernie & Darlene
If this is your first visit, I would hope you would take time to read through a few of our first year letters and check out our Fans Comments. You could even leave a comment of your own, telling us how you enjoyed visiting or how you know Bernie. I had at one time offered to do phone work for a friend. A few years later this same friend called to inform me that she had just sent a friend of hers to see me and that he needed someone to do some research. A little while later the door bell rang; the person at the door said…Phyllis has sent me to see you. I knew that voice! Roy Orbison? No Bernie Jessome! I had both heard and seen Bernie performing his Roy Orbison Legend Show while wearing the dark glasses but never without them. Like you,
I enjoy his voice whether it is his own or while he is performing during one
of his legends shows. After
Bernie explained what he wanted to do, I felt it came from his heart and I
knew then that this would be something I would like to be part of. There
have been many different “Departments” over the last few years as I will
call them. After a while
Bernie’s fan base had grown and he has now entrusted me with the beginning
of his Fan Club. I am one of his devoted fans to start with and have been assisting him for a few years, attending his shows and seeing the crowd’s response; Then if that isn’t enough, while I am looking at the picture of Sam Orbison [Roy’s Brother] and Bernie, reading Sam’s comments & praises about Bernie my thoughts are turning to the facts that are already in front of me, so how difficult could this be to talk about Bernie & his shows… During
the early part of 1994 Sam Orbison was asked to help develop a musical
presentation of his brother's career. The show was to have its basis in a
narrative accounting of Roy Orbison's life from his birth in
This, our
second year, has not only been very busy, but, also a very successful year
for Bernie.
Bernie
along with the Hilltop Restaurant & Banquet Hall began a Dinner
Theatre Show. Bernie not only performs, but once a month there is a
presentation of Bernie Jessome Entertainment Productions. Each show has
had fantastic revues!
Phil
provides the great food, the attractive dinning room, pleasant and
courteous servers, all which sets the stage for a great evening out with
Bernie’s great shows. As
you are standing during the standing ovation, for the show you have just
seen, your thought will turn to… Let’s do this again
The above
endeavor has proven to be very successful and will continue in 2007. There
is and will be, even more news in the very new future, as we complete this
our second year…please stay tuned!
Thanks

February 2008 Welcome back and Happy Valentine’s Day. Last month at the Hilltop, Bernie presented – Buddy Holly, the Everlys and Jerry Lee Lewis to a sold out show. There was an extra table, an oblong one (the rest were round) that was added and placed in front of the fireplace, which is centre back of the dining room. When Bernie entered the stage, he welcomed his audience and then looked straight ahead at the table in front of the fireplace and the guest sitting there and asked – who is Paula and who is Simon? To which there was a great response of laughter. The evening had begun with another beautiful meal and now we’re ready for the show to begin, which it did. The Everlys were, as customary, terrific. Not to take away anything from Scott, Bernie certainly leads the way with this combination. The range this man has takes him anywhere he needs his voice to be. Then Scott completes the Everly sound. Some time at the concert, just take a minute to listen to Bernie’s voice, not just the words. This is not only coming from one of his loyal fans, but it has also been mentioned many times in conversations at the dinner shows. Buddy Holly enters the stage, this time in a black suit instead of the red one, looking very handsome and immediately had the crowd in his hands. During the show he is all over the stage with his usual moves. The crowd is not doing the jumping, but they certainly are not sitting still either. Once again the famous ‘hand jive’ which Buddy demonstrates and says that we will all know it by the time we leave. Jerry Lee and his piano had a bit of trouble getting started with his set. Apparently at the Friday night show, Jerry Lee had gotten a little more active, if you can believe that, and the piano suffered the consequences. It only took about 5 minutes and Jerry Lee once again had those ivories’ speaking to us. After the show was over, Bernie and Jerry Lee began singing together and singing each others songs. Talk about bringing the house down! Remembering from last month’s letter, Bernie, Scott and their wives will begin the Bahamas from January 27th to February 3rd. The guys are doing their 1 hour Legends show for two nights, then it’s vacation time. At the Hilltop: April 15th & 16th – Elvis and Patsy Cline Tickets: $50.00 + tax The Hilltop – 905-433-7001 or visit after 12 P.M. See you next month. Take Care, Darlene |

Had the opportunity to listen to a recording of Bernie Jessome performing some of Roy's classic hits and I have to say that the vocals were astounding.
Never had the opportunity to see him in
person yet, but judging from the dress code, and the sound of his
voice, he would definitely impress people no matter where he
performs."
One of these days I hope to actually see him perform." Bernie Scott www.berniescott.com |

We are great fans of Bernie's and it brings joy to my heart at every
show. He
takes us back to our youth and what a feeling it is. The music rocks and
the soul roars. Its
breath taking to hear Bernie impersonate Roy Orbison. He will bring the
house down in a heart beat. You
just close your eyes and you hear I love the web site and I give Darlene a lot of praise. Keep it coming girlfriend. Lets Rock. Sherrie and Roger |

Mary Margaret,
Bernie lived in my home town and he and my brother used to jam, sometimes at our house. Bernie was about 17 then and having had his own car, sometimes drove us around. |

I enjoy Bernie’s voice, whether he’s Roy Orbison or any of the Legends he does so well, but also, when he is singing as himself especially Conway Twitty songs. The Legend music takes me back to memories of years gone by, but, at the same time making new ones. |

I have been to Bernie’s shows at LVIV Hall and found them very entertaining.
His impersonation of Roy
Orbison is the finest I’ve ever heard. I remember my Mom
always playing Elvis, Roy and Conway while I was growing up.
Listening to them again brought back very special memories of
the times Mom and I spent together.
Guess who my Mom is? (Darlene)
